OPD: Owensboro teen charged with stabbing victim in chest

The Owensboro Police Department has charged 18-year-old Joanus Holbrook, of Owensboro, with first-degree assault after he allegedly stabbed a victim in the chest Sunday afternoon.

According to reports, at approximately 4:20 p.m. Sunday officers responded to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital for a victim who arrived with a stab wound to the chest. Based upon statements provided, officers determined the victim was stabbed during an altercation that occurred in the 4700 block of Towne Square Court before being transported to the hospital. 

The victim suffered serious injuries from the assault but they are not believed to be life-threatening, according to OPD.
