Two Owensboro men were arrested for third-degree burglary Saturday morning after breaking into a maintenance building at Yellow Creek Park.

According to report, Daviess County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the park after the director called in stating he could see two male subjects on camera attempting to gain access to a locked maintenance building on the property.

Upon arrival, deputies found the building entry door open, and while approaching the building the two male subjects fled on foot from a side door.

According to DCSO, Dallas Lanham, 36, was caught a short distance from the building and taken into custody. Brent Watson, 35, was located moments later in an adjacent open business and taken into custody.

Investigation showed the two had cut the lock to the entrance door with tools they brought and were in the process of gathering numerous hand and power tools to steal when deputies arrived. The tools had been placed by the exit doors and were tied together and placed in bags for transport.

Both were placed under arrest and lodged at the Daviess County Detention Center and were charged with the following:
• Third-degree burglary
• Possession of burglary tools
• Second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot)
