COVID-19 update: 37 cases, 90 recoveries reported for district

A total of 37 more cases of COVID-19 and 90 recoveries were announced Thursday for the Green River District, including 18 cases and 40 recoveries in Daviess County.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (18), Hancock (1), Henderson (5), Ohio (8), Union (1), Webster (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (40), Hancock (6), Henderson (28), Ohio (12), Union (1), Webster (3)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 19,611
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 16,667 (85%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 21
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 819 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 324

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 9,234 cases, 7,861 recovered, 11 current hospitalizations, 328 ever hospitalized, 149 deaths
  • Hancock County – 760 cases, 636 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 22 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,175 cases, 3,469 recovered, 3 current hospitalizations, 196 ever hospitalized, 57 deaths
  • McLean County – 808 cases, 707 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 47 ever hospitalized, 26 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,300 cases, 1,977 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 115 ever hospitalized, 47 deaths
  • Union County – 1,200 cases, 1,061 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 57 ever hospitalized, 13 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,134 cases, 956 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 17 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.5%
  • Female: 53.5%

Cases by age range are :

  • <1 — 76 cases
  • 1-11 — 702 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,732 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,235 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,103 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,057 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,819 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,373 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,483 cases
  • 80+ — 1,031 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
