OPD: Owensboro man charged with first-degree robbery

An Owensboro man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly robbed the Even Steven at 3400 Old Hartford Road, indicating he had a gun upon entering the building.

D’Andre S. Mitchell, 24, was charged with one count of first-degree robbery.

According to a release from the Owensboro Police Department, officers responded to a business robbery call at approximately 8:30 a.m. Sunday after a male — later identified as Mitchell — entered the building demanding money and indicating he was armed with a gun.

The suspect then fled on foot before officers arrived. No money was stolen and no one was injured in the robbery.

Patrol officers located Mitchell a short time later in the area with the assistance of a K-9.
