COVID-19 update: 1 death, 27 cases, 26 recoveries reported for district

A total of 27 more cases of COVID-19 and 26 recoveries were announced Wednesday for the Green River District, including 13 cases and 8 recoveries in Daviess County. One coronavirus-related death was reported in Ohio County.

Based on the state of Kentucky’s audit of death certificates from March 2020 through February 2021, there are 3 additional COVID-19-related deaths for the district — in Daviess (1), Henderson (1) and Union (1).

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (13), Hancock (3), Henderson (5), McLean (2), Ohio (3), Webster (1)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (8), Hancock (1), Henderson (10), Ohio (7)
    • Note: The number of reported recoveries went down by 1 in Union County
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 20,611
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 18,476 (90%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 4
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 861 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 377

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 9,819 cases, 8,870 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 349 ever hospitalized, 175 deaths
  • Hancock County – 799 cases, 710 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 22 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,338 cases, 3,793 recovered, 2 current hospitalization, 202 ever hospitalized, 71 deaths
  • McLean County – 835 cases, 764 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 48 ever hospitalized, 28 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,427 cases, 2,191 recovered, 1 current hospitalizations, 122 ever hospitalized, 53 deaths
  • Union County – 1,232 cases, 1,129 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 64 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,161 cases, 1,019 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 54 ever hospitalized, 19 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.7%
  • Female: 53.3%

  • 1-11 — 757 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,851 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,404 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,258 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,222 cases
  • 50-59 — 2,968 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,483 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,524 cases
  • 80+ — 1,060 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
