COVID-19 update: 2 deaths, 16 cases, 33 recoveries reported for district

A total of 16 more cases of COVID-19 and 33 recoveries were announced Thursday for the Green River District, including 8 cases and 18 recoveries in Daviess County. One coronavirus-related death each was reported in Daviess and Ohio counties.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (8), Hancock (3), Henderson (2), Ohio (1), Webster (2)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (18), Hancock (1), Henderson (6), Ohio (4), Union (1), Webster (3)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 20,951
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 18,846 (90%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 7
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 876 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 379

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 10,003 cases, 9,076 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 353 ever hospitalized, 175 deaths
  • Hancock County – 815 cases, 732 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 22 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,406 cases, 3,867 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 205 ever hospitalized, 72 deaths
  • McLean County – 845 cases, 772 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 49 ever hospitalized, 28 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,447 cases, 2,218 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 123 ever hospitalized, 54 deaths
  • Union County – 1,255 cases, 1,147 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 67 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,180 cases, 1,034 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 57 ever hospitalized, 19 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 44
  • Male: 46.6%
  • Female: 53.4%

  • 1-11 — 772 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,906 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,464 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,315 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,279 cases
  • 50-59 — 3,017 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,507 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,539 cases
  • 80+ — 1,067 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
