COVID-19 update: 28 cases, 17 recoveries reported for district

A total of 28 more cases of COVID-19 and 17 new recoveries were announced Friday for the Green River District, including 15 cases and 12 recoveries in Daviess County.

A previously reported Ohio County case was determined not to have met the requirements of a confirmed case and has been removed from the total.

As reported by Green River District Health Department:

  • New cases by county: Daviess (15), Hancock (7), Henderson (2), Union (4)
  • New recoveries by county: Daviess (12), Henderson (1), Ohio (3), Union (1)
  • Total number of reported cases in the district: 21,218
  • Total number of reported cases now recovered: 19,019 (90%)
  • Total number of reported cases currently hospitalized: 9
  • Total number of cases that have required hospitalization: 891 (4%)
  • Total number of deaths in the district: 385

The county totals to date are:

  • Daviess County – 10,137 cases, 9,172 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 360 ever hospitalized, 176 deaths
  • Hancock County – 828 cases, 741 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 22 ever hospitalized, 16 deaths
  • Henderson County – 4,479 cases, 3,900 recovered, 4 current hospitalizations, 210 ever hospitalized, 75 deaths
  • McLean County – 851 cases, 778 recovered, 0 current hospitalizations, 50 ever hospitalized, 28 deaths
  • Ohio County – 2,466 cases, 2,229 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 124 ever hospitalized, 55 deaths
  • Union County – 1,268 cases, 1,158 recovered, 1 current hospitalization, 67 ever hospitalized, 15 deaths
  • Webster County – 1,189 cases, 1,041 recovered, 2 current hospitalizations, 58 ever hospitalized, 20 deaths

Demographics (not all demographic information is available because of incomplete reporting from a testing site):

  • Age range: 1 month-102 years old
  • Average age: 45
  • Male: 46.7%
  • Female: 53.3%

  • <1 — 87 cases
  • 1-11 — 780 cases
  • 12-19 — 1,960 cases
  • 20-29 — 3,517 cases
  • 30-39 — 3,359 cases
  • 40-49 — 3,322 cases
  • 50-59 — 3,046 cases
  • 60-69 — 2,530 cases
  • 70-79 — 1,546 cases
  • 80+ — 1,071 cases

The cases reported by GRDHD have been investigated and confirmed locally. These cases are then reported to the Kentucky Department for Public Health. This process sometimes may result in lags between state and local reporting and some discrepancies from duplicate reports.
