Green River District COVID-19 update — August 27

The Green River District Health Department reported 749 new confirmed COVID-19 infections and 9 coronavirus-related deaths on Friday — with 278 cases and 6 deaths in Daviess County. The newly reported cases were investigated between Tuesday and Thursday.  

According to the GRDHD, 50.21% of Daviess Countians have been vaccinated.

GRDHD also reported new cases in the following counties: 26 in Hancock, 147 in Henderson, 42 in McLean, 119 in Ohio, 80 in Union, and 57 in Webster. COVID-19-related deaths were also reported in Henderson (2) and Ohio (1) counties.

The current 7-day average for new cases in the seven-county Green River District is 188.7 new cases per day. All seven counties are now areas of high transmission.

As reported by Green River District Health Department, the seven-county district’s totals to date are:

  • Reported cases: 28,513 (13,115 for Daviess)
  • Currently hospitalized: 39 (16 for Daviess)
  • Ever hospitalized: 1,117 (446 for Daviess)
  • Deaths: 445 (208 for Daviess)
