Regional Water Resource Agency officials said Monday that the manhole repair at the intersection of Southtown Boulevard and Goetz Drive is expected to be finished in December.

RWRA began working on the project in February after the manhole sank more than 4 feet. They started running a bypass sewer at the time and repairs have been ongoing since then. On Monday, RWRA had installed a slide rail system.

With the goal to finish the project first week of December, they are laying the asphalt in the parking lot around that time.

RWRA also updated the status of other projects during their meeting Monday afternoon.

The Cured in Place Pipe Project consisted of 57 items ranging from 6 to 21 inch sewer pipes and totaled 15,200 feet. Director of Engineering Sean O’Bryan said they completed 12,000 feet of work Monday.

“I expect to finish up this project by next week,” O’Bryan said. “We’ll be done with the mining for this year.”

Additionally, he noted the Ravine Sewer Rehabilitation project, which would involve constructing a new sewer system to replace the original Ravine system near Second and Cedar Street, received bids on Nov. 9.

Bids are currently being reviewed and a recommendation will be made at the December meeting.

In other business, RWRA officially reviewed the audit for the last fiscal year, which showcased a total net increase of almost $5 million and operating revenues to almost $26 million.

The agency also approved a motion to offer Dylan Ward of Henderson the job of Director of Engineering effective Dec. 6. Ward is presently a Project Manager at the City of Henderson in the EIT department.
