There will soon be a new and unique option to keep your pups clean, as Shammy’s Car Wash is adding dog wash stations to both of their locations by the end of February.
Operations Manager Leanna Byrne said the owners learned about car washes offering the service during a convention they attended, and she thought it was the perfect opportunity to bring to Owensboro.
“We all are animal lovers. We love our dogs. So we just wanted to do something different,” Byrne said.
She said they plan to have shampoos and conditioners plus flea and tick treatments, along with a blow drier so owners do not have to put a wet dog in their car.
And for those who think they won’t know how to accomplish the service well, Byrne assures customers there will be a screen walking them through each step of the process.
“It’s gonna be super easy. So there’s a screen that will walk you through each step and it’ll tell you exactly what to do and what buttons to press,” Byrne said.
She also noted that they are working with different animal agencies and donating funds they raise from dog washes.
Shammy’s is currently in the middle of adding a second car wash at the corner of West Parrish Avenue and Carter Road, and Byrne said they will be offering the dog washing service there as well.
Byrne said that development of that location has been going extremely fast and they are expecting to open the new location at the end of February.
Byrne added that one of the new perks they’ll be offering will be a monthly membership package where customers are able to purchase a wash at either location and it works with their monthly package.
