Andrew Bailey scored a pair of goals and Owen Brey had three assists to power Owensboro Catholic past Muhlenberg County 5-1. JW Kurtz, Mason Hardesty, and Jaxyn Rundall all scored, while Lule Pfiefer finished with an assist. The Aces outshot Muhlenberg County 19-4 and had 13 shots on goal compared to their 1. Both Jace Obermeier and Max Dawson split time in goal, with the former playing the first half and the latter the second.
“We are happy with the result. There were times when we were a little too conservative in our approach, but when we played on the front foot, we were untouchable at times,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Andy Donohoe said. “It was an important game for us to show how far we have progressed in 12 months. The players controlled the tempo well and got their rewards in front of the goal.”
