Battling through a lightning delay on the road, McLean County’s run game proved to much for Grayson County, cruising to a 24-7 win. Aden Bolden started the scoring for the Cougars, running it in from one yard out for an early 6-0 lead.

After an hour lightning delay, play resumed in the second quarter, with the cougars immediately picking up where they left off. Bolden scored his second of four touchdowns, this time from 18 yards out, to push the lead to 12-0. With Grayson County slowly gaining momentum, the Cougars’ Jackson Reynolds ended the first half with a massive sack to preserve the team’s lead.

Grayson County cut the lead to 12-7 halfway through the third quarter, thanks to Ethan Mudd scoring from one yard out. Holding a five point lead in the fourth quarter, Bolden scored for the third time after running it in from four yards out. After the defense forced a punt, Bolden ripped off a 55 yard touchdown run to ice the game.

On the defensive side of the ball, Jojo Harrison forced a fumble, which Bolden recovered, and Carter Howard recorded his fourth sack of the season. After the game, Head Coach Zach Wagner was pleased with the team’s performance.

“I thought we played with a physicality and downhill vs a much bigger team,” Wagner said.
