McLean County beat Union County, while Owensboro and Trinity (Whitesville) both lost.
McLean County 3, Union County 1
Abbi Shivers recorded 23 digs, six service aces, and two kills, and Annie Shelton had 16 digs, six kills, four service aces, and one block in the Lady Cougars’ 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-16, 25-12) win over Union County. Amelia Aull added 17 digs, seven assists, and three kills, while Hadlie Coursey posted tallied eight assists to go with her eight digs and two service aces.
“We grinded it out and played really great ball to get the win,” McLean County Head Coach Traci Capps said.
Warren East 2, Owensboro 0
June Larsen recorded 17 digs, one assist, and one service ace, and Anna Travis finished with seven digs, four assists, and two blocks in the Lady Devils’ 2-0 (7-25, 13-25) loss to Warren East.
Grayson County 3, Trinity (Whitesville) 1
Emmy Edge recorded 32 assists, 12 digs, and two kills, and Ella Morris had 13 digs and eight kills in the Lady Raiders’ 3-1 (26-28, 25-19, 23-25, 12-25) loss to Grayson County. Ella McManaway posted 12 digs, Laney Mills had 21 digs, and Ava Comes tallied 13 kills and three blocks.
“I am proud of the overall effort,” Trinity (Whitesville) Head Coach Adam Huff said. “We played some of our best volleyball tonight. We lost the first set after having a late lead slip away, but we responded well and kept fighting throughout the night. We just came up a little short.”
