With the 3rd Region Tournament just around the corner, Daviess County tennis is peaking at the right time. In meticulous fashion, both their boys and girls teams took care of Apollo 9-0.
For the Lady Panthers, Emmie Kate Williams, Jenna Faulkner, Ellie Dever, Claire Dunlay, Lyla Grace Hall, and Kate Mason all won their singles matches, while the doubles teams of Maddie Meyer and Alexah Salamah, Ella Boswell and Dever, and Vivi Castlen and Williams emerged victorious.
The Panthers went 6-0 in their singles matches behind the stellar play of Landon McDuffee, Eli Bivens, Alex Sublett, Gabe Hoak, Christian Farmer, and Nathan Kafer. In doubles, Walt Yeiser and Farmer, Sublett and Hoak, and Kafer and Caleb Murphy all won.
“On the boys’ side, Nathan Kafer and Caleb Murphy played great and earned a solid doubles win,” Daviess County Head Coach Dylan McDuffee said. “On the girls’ side, Maddie and Alexa played against a strong team and played amazing.”
