The Lady Panthers (1-0) had no trouble getting past the Bravettes (0-1) in the season opener behind a strong day on the mound from Hannah Clark as well as several hot bats at the plate.

Clark had nine strikeouts and gave up one hit through four innings, and Seana Leidfried struck out the side in the fifth. Union County’s lone hit came on a triple by Jaylee Meadors.

After a pair of runs in the fourth inning, Daviess County exploded for a 12-run second to put the game away early.

Savanah Northern (2-2, 2 runs, 3 RBIs), Emma Young (2-2, 1 run, 3 RBIs), Abbie Pike (2-2, 2 runs, 1 RBI) and Millie Roberts (1-2, 2 RBIs) led the way at the plate.

The Lady Raiders (0-2) dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the Lady Panthers (2-0) on the road to start the season.

In the first contest, Cassidy Morris and Katherine Hibbitt each had a pair of home runs, and Nina Wathen had a triple to help Trinity take a 9-6 lead. Russellville exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the fourth to get the win. Wathen pitched the complete game in the loss.

In the second game, the Lady Raiders couldn’t get anything going on offense. The Lady Raiders ended the game in the fourth inning on a two-run homer by Brinley Mason.
