GIRLS
DC GOES 1-1 IN TOURNEY, 7 PLAYERS RECORD GOALS
The Lady Panthers (11-2) split a pair of games over the weekend in the Thoroughbred Tournament at the Thompson-Berry Soccer Complex. They lost 2-0 to Father Ryan on Friday afternoon but bounced back for a 7-1 win over Seymour on Saturday morning.

Every goal came from a different player Saturday, as DC got one each from Mackenzie Sweat, Morgan Lucas, Ashlyn Payton, Avery McNeiley, Bree Owen, Meredith Campbell and Tori Beth Bayliss. Assists came from Sophie Jagoe (2), Shelby Sandifer, Kenlee Newcom and McNeiley.

Emma Patterson had 10 saves Friday and five more Saturday.

The Lady Panthers will play again Tuesday at Owensboro Catholic.


MOORE’S HAT TRICK LIFTS CATHOLIC PAST MEADE COUNTY
Owensboro Catholic (4-3-1) got a hat trick from Lily Moore as they picked up a 4-2 win on the road at Meade County (7-2).

Moore connected on a penalty kick and added two more goals, while the other Catholic score came from an own goal by the Lady Waves. Megan Goodwin had six saves in goal.

The Lady Aces return to action Tuesday when they host Daviess County.



BOYS
BOWMAN, GILLIM RECORD HAT TRICKS IN TOURNAMENT
Apollo (5-6) split a pair of games on opening day of the Boots and Butts Soccer Classic at Hopkinsville. After a 4-1 loss to West Jessamine (7-3), they came back strong with a 10-1 victory over Christian County (1-7-1).

Harrison Bowman scored the lone goal with an assist from Jaelin Kirk in game one, and Matthew Marks finished with six saves.

In game two, Bowman and Justin Gillim each scored three goals, Kirk added two, and Eh Wah and Teranse Twihenya had one each. Assists came from Casey Rynkowski (2), Yo Shi Ya (2), Bowman, Twihenya, Kyaw Say and Jacob Gillim. Marks had two saves.

Apollo wraps up the tournament Sunday against Franklin County.


BOLING, CLARK LEEAD DC TO ANOTHER WIN
Jacob Boling and Hunter Clark each had a goal and an assist as Daviess County (9-0-2) earned a 3-2 road victory over Elizabethtown (7-3), who entered on a six-game winning streak.

DC was quick on the board with a goal by Clark that was set up by a through ball from Boling, but Elizabethtown responded a minute later. Boling then scored a goal with 10 minutes left in the half with an assist from Hayden Boswell.

DC added another scored less than a minute into the second half when Clark sent a cross in to Declan Armistead, and they were able to hold on for the win.

Daviess County plays again Tuesday when they host Ohio County.
