This is a Brescia Athletics press release.

The Lady Bearcats softball program is looking forward to an exciting 2021 Spring season within the River States Conference. After a shortened season last Spring, Coach Traci Smith has assembled a very impressive class of talented true freshmen. They will be a great compliment to the 18 returners.

“We worked really hard to bring in players to fill in gaps in both our defense, and offense,” Smith said. “We have fallen short of our goals in the last two years, so I am very excited and optimistic to see where this team ends up at the end of the year. I have a great feeling about this team.”

After losing some very talented seniors the Bearcats brought in three transfers. They include, Brooklyn Ray(so) from University of Tennessee (Russellville, Ky), Bailey Caster (so) from Kentucky State (Vine Grove, Ky), and Jaylin Johnstone (so) from Lindsey Wilson College (Fairdale, Ky). These players all have a level of maturity and knowledge, and will have an immediate impact in all aspects of the Bearcats program.

The freshmen class brings in hitting, fielding, and speed which will make this Bearcats season very exciting and fun to watch.
