With the hoops season underway for a couple of weeks, the Kentucky AP Prep Poll is in full swing with Owensboro Catholic as the lone area team to receive votes in the Jan. 18 poll.
The Aces received 12 votes in this week’s poll as they come in at No. 14.
There’s a logjam at the top of the poll with Bowling Green taking the top spot this week. The Purples (92 total points), just edged Lexington Catholic (91 total points) and Louisville Male (89 total points) as the Bulldogs dropped from No. 1 to No. 3.
Three teams had yet to play a game when the most recent poll came out with Male, Ballard (No. 5) and Fern Creek (No. 7) not seeing the court due to Jefferson County not allowing hoops the last two weeks.
On the girls’ side, Anderson County received all 10 first-place votes after they moved up from No. 1 when they beat previous No. 1 Franklin County last week.
