With only two weeks remaining in the regular season, Kentucky Wesleyan Women’s Basketball earned Great Midwest Athlete of the Week honors in junior Cali Nolot.  This marks Nolot’s first Athlete of the Week selection of her career, and the first of the season for Wesleyan.

The balanced offensive attack and fast-paced play of Kentucky Wesleyan have made them a tough match-up for opponents all season. That was no different last week as they topped No. 17 Cedarville and Tiffin on the road.  Cali Nolot has been a key player this season for the Panthers, averaging just under 10 ppg, while shooting .484 percent from the floor.

In the Panthers’ 63-59 win at Tiffin, Nolot was 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from behind the arc, to tie teammate Kaylee Clifford for high-scoring honors with 15 points.

Wesleyan then beat No. 17 Cedarville in a come from behind win, 89-84. The Panthers trailed for the majority of the game, until the final minutes of the fourth quarter. Nolot made two pairs of free throws in the final minute of play to secure the win.  The junior tallied 16 points and eight rebounds against Cedarville, while also adding one assist and one steal.

The Panthers lead in the league in team field goal percentage (.463) and steals per game (11).

Wesleyan has one road game this week, heading to Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday to take on Trevecca Nazarene.

This is a Kentucky Wesleyan Athletics press release.
