KWC’s Adam Bender Named NWCA Scholar All-American

For the first time in program history, Kentucky Wesleyan College is represented on the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) 2021 Scholar All-American Division II wrestling team. Sophomore Adam Bender earned All-American status as announced by NWCA on Monday afternoon. 

Majoring in Business Administration, Bender holds a 3.59 GPA. Benders other accomplishments include Great Midwest Academic Conference prior to the 2021 season. 

In 39 career matches at 125-pound weight class, Bender has posted a record of 20 wins with three pins and four tech falls. This season Bender finished 7-6 overall with one pin.

Bender is one of 345 chosen student-athletes honored individually. To be eligible for nomination, student athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.4 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
