Area girl’s swim teams hit the Owensboro Health Healthpark Monday morning for the swimming portion for the Region 2 Meet with Owensboro grabbed three top-three finishes.
With no locals finishing top two, area swimmers will have to see how they stack up with the rest of the regions before finding out if they advance to semi-state.
The top local finishers came in the 200-yard medley relay as Owensboro finished third with the Lady Panthers of Daviess County finishing right behind them.
Other local top-five finishers included Owensboro’s Abby Warren (4th in 50-yard freestyle), Owensboro Catholic’s Mary Kate Hayden (5th in 500-yard freestyle), Owensboro’s 200-yard freestyle relay (3rd), Owensboro Abby Warren (3rd in 100-yard breastroke), Owensboro’s Addison Callis (5th in 100-yard breastroke) and Daviess County’s 400-yard freestyle relay where the Lady Panthers took fourth.
Action continues this evening as Regions 1-3 meet for the diving portion with the boy’s getting their turn to show what they’ve got Thursday morning.
