Offensive struggles were the Lady Raiders’ downfall on Friday night, as they fell to Butler County 64-34 at home.

Trinity (Whitesville) got off to a rough start, being held to single digits in the first and second quarter while a 21-point outburst for the Lady Bears in the second led to a 34-17 halftime lead. The Lady Raiders bounced back with 11 points coming out of the locker room, but a combined 12 points from senior Jenna Phelps and eighth grader Ava Wilson helped Butler County remain in front 52-28.

Trinity’s luck didn’t change in the fourth either, as they were held to six points and ultimately went on to lose 64-34. Sophomores Sarah Payne and Kenzie McDowell led the Lady Raiders on the night, finishing with 12 and 11 points respectively.

Now sitting at 2-17 with back-to-back losses under its belt, Trinity will look to bounce back on the road Saturday against Henry County at 1 p.m.
