Apollo and Daviess County showed out recently at the Region One Bowling Championship, with the E-gals finishing as a runner-up to qualify for state while Lady Panther Jasmine Parm qualified for state individually.

Daviess County boys bowling beat Warren Central and Apollo topped Owensboro in first round wins, but were handed losses from Ohio County and Bowling Green in the second round.

On the girls side, the Lady Panthers grabbed a first round win over Owensboro—falling in the ensuing round despite an impressive performance from Jasmine Parm individually. Parm shot an 876 in the tournament, with a high game of 235 that helped her place second individually.

The E-gals on the other hand had a lot of momentum, defeating Christian County, Warren East and Greenwood to get to the Regional Championship. Apollo fell just shy and finished as a runner-up behind Graves County, but earned themselves a spot at state thanks to a solid team performance led by Madison Emmick’s 795 (fifth place).
