Owensboro Catholic’s baseball program got a new addition just in time for the 2023 season last week, as a brand new hitting facility was added at their home field.

The facility located at Chautauqua Park was made possible by Chris and Janet Reid, the Reid family, Independence Bank, parents, friends and family of Owensboro Catholic baseball. The new place for all things Aces hitting was unveiled prior to their first home game of the season, as they were joined by supporters for a blessing and tour of the facility.

Assistant Coach Mitchell Sims said that they are extremely grateful to the people who made this possible, noting that Owensboro Catholic baseball is a special program that he’s honored to be a part of. Head Coach Jody Hamilton shared the notion, letting his thankfulness for the new resource for the 2023 season be well known.

“It is my honor to give our deepest, heartfelt appreciation to all the contributors of the new indoor baseball facility,” Hamilton said. “It is a first-class facility and will serve as a great source of pride for past players, as well as an amazing addition for the continued development and success of present and future baseball players of Catholic High.”
