As the regular season near its end Apollo baseball is set to battle in the district tournament, they are led by their six seniors—all of which signed to play collegiate baseball prior to the season’s start.

The Eagles now sit at 19-11 overall, led to the strong record in Head Coach Brandon Dennis’s first season by their seniors.

Some of them will even be joining each other at their future schools, as Hayden Cash, Cayden Crabtree and Braxton Franey all remain close to home with Brescia University.

Cash has played in 16 games this season, owning a .300 batting average with eight RBIs while being 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA in 14 innings pitched on the bump. Cayden Crabtree .333 batting average in 18 at-bats, while being 0-1 with a 2.42 ERA on the mound.

Franey follows with a 2-0 record and a save, owning a 1.88 ERA in 22.1 innings pitched while hitting .250 in 24 at-bats.

Josh Mayes and Aiden Wells will join each other at Southeastern Illinois College as well, while Charles Schneider will take his talents to Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

Mayes has played all 30 games this season, hitting .296 with seven RBIs while Wells has played 29 games and is hitting .254 with eight RBIs. Schneider is hitting .294 with a home run and two RBIs in 22 games at the plate, while toting a 1.00 ERA in seven innings pitched across three appearances.

Apollo will return to the field next week, as they will take on Owensboro Catholic in the first round of the 9th District Tournament.
