The Lady Panthers, E-gals and Lady Devils had strong days at the plate in their respective wins on Thursday, while the Lady Aces were unable to slow down Henderson County in a tough home loss.

Daviess County vs Evansville Mater Dei

The Lady Panthers hot start pushed them to victory on Thursday, defeating Evansville Mater Dei 8-2 for their second straight home win.

Daviess County wasted no time producing runs, as a hit by pitch led to an RBI single from sophomore Danielle Beckwith and a two-run home run for senior Jessie Daniels the following at-bat to make it a 3-0 game. Evansville responded quickly with a two-run home run in the top of the second, but the Lady Panthers never slowed down—grabbing a run in the bottom of the second and four in the bottom of the third to take an 8-2 lead.

With freshman Sophia Cain throwing a complete-game, allowing just two earned runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight—Daviess County was able to secure the 8-2 win. Morris and Daniels led the way at the plate with their home run and pair of RBIs each, while Beckwith, freshman Briley Henry and junior Makayla Rowan all had one each.

The E-gals hot start at plate helped them snap a two-game losing streak, defeating Ohio County 9-4 on the road on Thursday.

It was Apollo who was able to cross home plate first, getting a double from senior Morgan Julian and a two-out RBI single from senior Emmie Bullington to take a 1-0 lead into the second. Julian came through again with a three-run triple in the top of the second, while got a two-run double from junior Mallory Velotta in the top of the third to give the E-gals a 6-0 lead.

Late offense helped the Lady Devils snap their three-game losing streak on Thursday, pushing them past McLean County 8-1 at home.

Owensboro struck first in the contest, grabbing a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to an RBI double from junior Sophia Moorman. McLean County went on to tie the game in the top of the fourth with a safety squeeze, but the Lady Devils proceeded to score seven runs over the course of the fifth and sixth en route to the 8-1 win.
