The Lady Panthers and Lady Aces put together balanced efforts against Butler County and Edmonson County respectively on Tuesday, defeating them 10-1 and 7-1 in order to set up a 3rd Region Championship rematch.

Daviess County vs Butler County

Daviess County got off to a slow start, but they took over offensively in the fourth, fifth and sixth on Tuesday en route to a 10-1 win over Butler County and a chance at a fourth straight 3rd Region Championship.

After three scoreless innings it was the Lady Bears who struck first on Tuesday, as they got a two-out double from senior MacKenzie Coleman to take advantage of a one-out error and grab a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. But back-to-back one-out singles from the Lady Panthers in the bottom of the fourth had them in business, with senior Kaityln Hill walking the following at-bat to load the bases.

Sophomore Danielle Beckwith proceeded to take the lead with a two-RBI single to right, with a two-RBI double from freshman Briley Henry following to make it a 4-1 game going into the fifth. A sac fly from senior Kaydence Hamilton plated another, with an RBI single from Hill and a big two-run homer from Beckwith following to give them four more runs and an 8-1 lead going into the sixth.

Daviess County grabbed two more runs in the sixth, while senior Raylee Roby wrapped up her complete game performance en route to the 10-1 win.

Roby allowed one unearned run in the win, allowing five hits and walking a pair while striking out nine in seven innings. Beckwith led the way at the plate with her 3-3 day and four RBIs, while Henry had a pair and freshman Annie Newman, Hamilton, Hill and all had one RBI each.

The Lady Panthers get right back to work tomorrow though, as they’ll look to sweep Owensboro Catholic in the 9th District Championship and 3rd Region Championship once again this year to bring home a pair of four-peats when they face off Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Owensboro Catholic vs Edmonson County

Senior Brooke Hamilton followed up her perfect game on Sunday with another dominant performance on Tuesday, while the Lady Aces offense backed her up en route to the 7-1 win over Edmonson County that gave them a spot in the 3rd Region Championship.

It was a slow start to the contest, with neither side able to break through in the first two innings to make it a 0-0 ballgame heading into the third. But Owensboro Catholic was able to strike first, getting a leadoff double from senior Abbie Dukate and an error on a ground ball by senior Bailey Hamilton to set up a sacrifice fly for Brooke Hamilton that gave them a 1-0 lead.

Senior Addison Tignor followed that up with an RBI double, later scoring on a passed ball to give the Lady Aces a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the third. Both teams brought across a run each in the fourth, but Owensboro Catholic in the fifth, sixth and seventh as well to come away with the 7-1 victory.

Brooke Hamilton led the way in the circle by allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk, while striking out a whopping 15 in her complete-game performance. Addison Tignor and sophomore Hannah Tignor led the way with a pair of RBIs each, while Brook and Dukate both had an RBI each.

The Lady Aces will have their work cut out for them in the 3rd Regino Championship on Wednesday though, as they will see Daviess County again in a rematch from last year at 7 p.m.
